Festive opening of the expanded primary school Scheutplaneet!
On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, the renovated and expanded Scheutplaneet primary school in Anderlecht was festively opened in the presence of Brussels Minister Sven Gatz, responsible for Dutch-language Education and School Construction in the VGC. The school now has a capacity of 480 places.
During the past few years, intensive work has been done to realize this metamorphosis of the school site: the school building was completely renovated, a new sports hall was built and the first part of the playground was redesigned. The old gymnasium and chapel will soon disappear and the entire playground will be redesigned. The school entrances are also made more pleasant and safer.
In addition to Minister Gatz, Piet Ketele (delegated staff member of the non-profit organization KatOBA) and Giovanni Truyens (director of Scheutplaneet) also spoke. Staff member Anja De Neef, who intensively followed up this construction project on behalf of KatOBA, was honored. In between there were musical, expressive and creative intermezzos by students from the different classes.
